June 8 is 2024 Cultural and Natural Heritage Day. In order to thoroughly implement the spirit of the 20th National Congress of the Communist Party of China, study and publicize the cultural thoughts of the Supreme Leader, better shoulder the new cultural mission in the new era, comprehensively demonstrate the new progress and achievements in the protection and utilization of cultural relics and the protection and inheritance of cultural heritage, enhance the awareness of cultural relics protection in the whole society, and create a strong social atmosphere for the protection of cultural relics and cultural heritage, we hereby notify you of the holding of cultural and natural heritage days.
I. Theme of the event
Theme: Protecting Cultural Relics and Inheriting Civilization
China has a long history and a vast civilization. Cultural relics lay a solid foundation for civilization, and the archaeological achievements of cultural relics demonstrate China’s millions of years of human history, 10,000 years of cultural history and 5,000 years of civilization history, and demonstrate the outstanding continuity, innovation, unity, inclusiveness and peace of Chinese civilization. We should insist on protection first, strengthen the systematic protection of cultural relics, deepen the study of archaeology and historical civilization, and explain clearly the development context, outstanding characteristics and great contributions of Chinese civilization with more abundant and three-dimensional cultural relics. Cultural relics inherit the roots of civilization, and the cultural relics resources in urban and rural areas and the rich and diverse memorial halls of cultural relics museums in China are strong supports for carrying forward Chinese excellent traditional culture and strengthening the construction of socialist spiritual civilization. It is necessary to promote rational utilization, revitalize cultural relics resources, strengthen the interpretation and display of cultural values, optimize the service efficiency of cultural relics units, strengthen scientific and technological support and personnel training, promote the all-media dissemination of Chinese culture, make cultural relics and cultural heritage truly alive, and build a modern civilization of the Chinese nation. Cultural relics nourish the form of civilization. Cultural relics and cultural heritage bear the genes and blood of the Chinese nation, show the open mind of Chinese civilization, and are the common wealth of all mankind. It is necessary to deepen the exchange and mutual learning of civilizations, strengthen the exchange and cooperation of cultural heritage, build a big pattern of "going out" and "please come in" of cultural heritage, enhance the influence of Chinese civilization, write a civilized chapter of harmony and symbiosis, and actively build a new form of human civilization.
Around the cultural relics administrative departments and cultural relics units should focus on this theme, to carry out a variety of theme publicity activities.
Second, the propaganda slogan
(A) study and implement the supreme leader’s cultural thought and strengthen the systematic protection and rational utilization of cultural relics.
(B) Inheriting Chinese excellent traditional culture and building modern civilization of the Chinese nation

Third, the content of the activity
(a) in-depth study and implementation of the supreme leader’s cultural thought, publicity and display the effectiveness of cultural relics work. Focusing on studying and implementing the cultural thoughts of the Supreme Leader, we will fully implement the spirit of the important exposition and instructions of the General Secretary of the Supreme Leader on cultural relics work, and plan and carry out a variety of cultural and cultural activities around major decision-making arrangements such as building a protection system, improving protection institutions, improving protection mechanisms, ensuring the rule of law, and promoting mutual learning among civilizations, so as to show a new atmosphere and a new situation of strong confidence and enthusiasm in cultural relics work.
(two) to publicize and implement the concept of protection first and inheritance priority, and to unite a wide range of social forces. Practice the work requirements of protection first, strengthen management, tap value, make effective use of cultural relics, coordinate cultural relics protection with urban and rural construction and development, improve people’s livelihood security, publicize and popularize cultural relics protection knowledge, concepts, laws and regulations, promote systematic protection of cultural relics, promote social participation in supervision, and build a pattern of cultural relics protection.
(3) Give full play to the role of cultural relics and enrich people’s spiritual world. Taking Cultural and Natural Heritage Day as an important time node and exhibition platform, we will transform the advantages of cultural resources into the advantages of cultural development, launch more cultural achievements that reflect the outstanding characteristics of Chinese civilization and reflect the progress and development of the times, and provide the society with high-level exhibitions, high-quality supplies and high-quality services to meet the spiritual and cultural needs of the people.
(four) to show the vivid practice of the industry and sing the main theme of the times. Give full play to the advantages of various media platforms, encourage joint cultural relics administrative departments and cultural relics units to carry out all-media communication, online live broadcast and offline display, and produce and broadcast cultural and art quality programs, publicize and report colorful cultural and art activities in various places, enhance the influence of Chinese civilization’s communication, and provide important public opinion support for writing a new chapter of Chinese modern cultural relics.
IV. Activity Requirements
(1) Carefully organize the preparations. On June 8th, National Cultural Heritage Administration and Liaoning Provincial People’s Government co-hosted the main city activity of Cultural and Natural Heritage Day in Shenyang. In light of the actual situation, all localities actively organized various online and offline cultural relics exhibitions, visits and explanations, educational seminars and publicity and communication activities around the Heritage Day, displayed the theme and slogan of the activities, enriched the contents and holding forms of the activities, encouraged the provision of free opening, extended opening, free explanation training and public welfare appraisal services, demonstrated the achievements of cultural relics protection and utilization and cultural heritage protection and inheritance, and expanded the participation of the whole people in the Cultural and Natural Heritage Day.
(2) Joint publicity and display. National Cultural Heritage Administration co-ordinates the arrangements and highlights of activities around the country, and promotes them through press conferences and linked reports by the central media. Please co-ordinate the relevant activities of cultural and cultural institutions within your administrative area, plan the cultural and natural heritage day activities of this province (autonomous region or municipality) and this unit before May 15, 2024, submit the summary of cultural and natural heritage day activities to our bureau before June 20, and push the publicity links of relevant key activities before June 8.
(3) Ensure the safety of activities. Do a good job in service guarantee during the event, formulate emergency safety work plans, and ensure the safety of people’s lives and property and cultural relics during the event. Strictly implement the responsibility system for ideological work, adhere to the correct orientation, and ensure ideological security.
